Broken reflections, fleeting clouds, layered landscapes and above all, mystery and intrigue. When I begin a painting, it can start with an inspirational colour (blue and yellow, in this instance), and develop into shapes and shadows. This unique work developed organically, the lines and reflections challenges the viewer. One questions what they see; a dense blue velvet envelops your senses and a bold layers of white and ochre adds a dramatic other-worldly aspect.
I want the viewer to become lost in its mystery. As an artist I believe each painting that hangs in your home should bring you joy, that you should see something new in your painting every day. I love that this is a small piece, but asks those same questions; 'what do I see here?'
